On August 11, 2014 two deputies from the Rutherford County, TN Sheriff Department came out to my friends home at 6026 Creekmont Dr in Murfreesboro, TN and upon finding her pit bull named Sadie who had escaped her back yard and had walked over to a neighbor who had called the dog, shot and killed my friends dog that was not showing any sign of aggression. Just because my friends dog was a pit bull. We are asking for your help to sign our petition to force the Rutherford County Sheriff to not only acknowledge the wrong doing of these deputies who murdered an innocent family pet, my friend has young children, in their blatant abuse of power but also to terminate their employment with the sheriff department and bring them up in a court of law on animal cruelty charges. The policy of the department states that officers are never to fire on an animal unless the animal is observed attacking or biting a person which by witness accounts never occurred so this policy was broken. After my friend discovered her dog murdered the officers never apologized, but rather told her to have a good evening and ran like the yellow bellied cowards that they are. These men are not law enforcement officers but rather they are bullies and need to be brought to justice for what they have done.
