On BBC Radio last Sunday was a special program presented by Keith Skues. In the second hour he played songs starting with letters from the sentence Amsterdam here I come. Of course telling the listeners that he will go to the Radioday in Amsterdam on Saturday. And he made a choice of a variety of songs from 1950 up till mid 70s. Cardboard Skues worked for offshore radiostations Caroline as well on Radio London. And talking about the later one I can tell you, although the station is off the air since 1967, still people have a big adoration for the station. For them popradio all started there. Some 20 years ago I produced the double cd about the station and the sleevewords were written by the one time chairman of the Big L Foundation Peter van den Berg, also known as a journalist for many years at the Dutch newspaper Volkskrant. Lately Peter send me the next picture showing still his adoration for the station.
