On Behalf of DC Casineros Dance Company we want to thank the 200 of you that came last night to be part of our social!! First and foremost special thanks to the elders of The Cuban Community in DC that blessed us with their presence. Thanks to Randell Piraguas Orishabo for the wonderful live rumba and comparsa, and to Ofunshi Oba Koso for blessing the space, and leading the Conga lines! Thank you very much to Camille Muñoz and Gustavo Ramallo for leading their wonderful group from George Mason University Azucar with an energetic and innovative performance, The future of Cuban Dance in DC is guaranteed! Thanks to Alison E. Blank and Carlos Mateu that came all the way from New York to teach a very popular Cuban Son class. Thanks to mi hermano del Alma Ariel Rolando DJ Asho for the wonderful music and keeping the crowds hype (thanks for playing Irakere!!) . Thanks to Mily Mendez of Cubanos Restaurant for providing the food and to Salsa Rueda Pasion-Philly and Baltimore Casineros for driving for hours to be with us! Thanks to all of our students for coming and participating in the lines, the ruedas and for the energy! Special thanks to the Cuban Embassy in DC for coming, and for the 30+ Cubans from the DC/VA/MD that came and danced Casino, Rumba and Comparsa with all of our students and dancers, it was very appreciated!
