On Benue APC’s propensity for fraud Franc DObama Utoo wrote; APC CANDIDACY FOR MAKURDI / GUMA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY. I have been inundated with so many questions, and the story goes this way: The election was fiercely contested by 2 of us who bought the Nomination forms and were duly cleared : my friend, Terhide Utaan and I. Two others had dropped down their ambition earlier. Voting was done on Sunday, 7 December 2014 and I won and was so announced; 24 hours later, my opponent was given certificate of returns at the State party secretariat (1st illegality - an electoral body has no power to sit down in an office and reshuffle an election already conducted nd announced ); In line wit the partys constitution, an Appeal Committee was appointed, they reviewed the election and duly upheld my victory (Appeal Committee Report as Pic); Instead of sending my name to INEC on December 16, the state secretariat forwarded the name of a dummy- one BULAUN PETERS T as the candidate of APC. Feel thats funny?; That machinations was meant to provide an easy room for the substitution of candidate. The idea was to convince Rt.Hon Emmanuel Jime to go bck to the House of Reps after being the foremost aspirant for the APC guber seat for Benue. That never materialised; On December 30 (INECs dateline for substitution of candidate ),a Death Certificate nd an attached affidavit was presented to INEC on the demise of the dummy candidate - BULAUN PETERS T, thereby preparing the grounds for the substitution of name; December 31 - completely ignoring me (the winner of the ticket) nor even my opponent, a fresh name - one who contested same seat under the PDP and lost to John Tondu, was sent to INEC as APCs candidate for Makurdi / Guma. How did that happen? Thats a puzzle wrapped in a conundrum; I respect Dickson Tarkighir a lot. Unfortunately, hes allowed himself to be a material used to commit the VILEST ACT OF IMPUNITY NEVER SURPASSED IN THE LONG, DARK LAMANTABLE CATALOGUE OF NIGERIAs POLITICAL HISTORY! The whole thing has become a comedy of the absurd. I want to use this opportunity to thank all who stood by us. I was never the likeliest candidate; we didnt come wit much money or any endorsement of a godfather. We had just GOD & THE PEOPLE! I would not have reached this level without the unyielding support of my wife, the love of my life and the rock of the family, Mrs. Brenda Utoo; my son, Adrian Aondoakura for his patience. I thank our people who volunteered, mobilised and organised and proved that when a people unite on the same idea and mission and make their voice resonant, nutin can stand on their way. My unsung heroes are the members of my Think - tank in Makurdi, Guma nd the Campaign Organisations; the Ward Chairmen and Exco; Makurdi / Guma LG excos, and all of u who have proven the worthiness of ur friendship by standing with/by us every step of the way, and sometimes dug into what little savings u can make to make a modest contribution : My fellow Keffi Old Boys: Hon. Thank u all for #Believing and for responding with the timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people- YES WE CAN. Our victory was an answer to all those who have told us to for so long be cynical, fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to now put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more towards the hope of a better day. The process of change continues. .. In this struggle, there are no barriers. For the triumph of justice over tyranny is not just a generational duty but an inescapable necessity - Ernesto Che Guevara GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
