On Board the Celebrity Reflexion: Pamela Duran and I have been extremely happy with this ship. The food, always important with us, has been outstanding, significantly better than any other ship that we have been on. The ship itself is modern and comfortable. And very ecological. For example, it has a half acre grass space on the top deck, supposedly the only one of its kind, and a live tree growing above the lobby, large and comfortable library and lots of nooks and crannies where we can try to seek shelter from some of our more vocal countrymen. (There is one particularly obnoxious American who broadcasts daily from one of the hot tubs; I think be auditioning for a gig on Fox News.) I always find the Sail Away Party traumatic, as I view my future fellow passengers and wonder how I am going to survive the voyage amongst these strangers. But this time Pam and I found a secluded and quiet hammock (pictured) where we enjoyed the passage until we fell into slumber.) One of the modern innovations on this ship is a wine cellar, open 24/7 where you can self-dispense your choice and size from a selection of about 50 wines, for the mere purchase of a little white card. Yesterday, we went to a tasting, and met two other couples that we particularly enjoyed, and spent a very delightful afternoon. Two days ago, we discovered a stowaway on our balcony. Like us, after enjoying the food and beverages that I brought to him, as well as the other amenities of the ship, he went ashore today at Madeira. (On one of our earlier cruises, we had a falcon that got on At Madeira and hitched a ride to Ft Lauderdale. In fact he was the first passenger to disembark.) This is Day 5 of our 15-day transAtlantic, so we are already one-third of the way. The cruise ship company very thoughtfully provides, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and FOX to assist in our re-acclimation to life in America. Next stop, St Kitts, in about 7 days. Hope yall are well and safe.
