On Dec 16th the BCJH Boys seventh grade basketball teams played at home against Lamar. The Panther Blue team won their third game in a row by a score of 34 to 24. The bigger Lamar team played 12 players while the Panthers only play seven. In the first half the Panthers had a 17 to 10 lead in what proved to be another close contest. Demitri M had a fantastic game leading the team in points with nine. James C had several outstanding rebounds and blocked shots. According to Coach Marcus Johnson the offensive and defensive transition was the difference in the contest. Other top scorers in the game were Anthony P with 8 points, & Justin B with 9 points. The Panther Gold Basketball team hosted Lamar in the South Gym. The Gold lost to Lamar 32-5. The Panthers avoided shut-out when Dontay W hit a three-pointer in the fourth quarter. The Panther Gold team was led by Orande D who played point guard demonstrating ball control and physical defense. The leading rebounder was Joseph D for the third week in a row. On defense they were led by Jonathan R, the team captain, and Raheem K who set great picks for the offense. Directing the team was Luis M.
