On December 29, 2014, the Pineville Police Department made two arrests in connection with the December 21st and December 26, 2014, bomb threats that were telephoned into the Pineville Walmart store at 3636 Monroe Highway. At this point we have not eliminated the possibility that other suspects may have been involved. We will continue this investigation until this can be determined. The Pineville Police Department and the City of Pineville enjoy a great partnership with the Pineville Walmart. We want to thank them for their cooperation and input throughout this investigation. The men and women of the Pineville Police Department take matters such as this seriously. The actions of these individuals not only risked the lives of the customers in the store, but caused the dispatch of Emergency personnel, Firefighters and Police Officers. It also caused a major retailer and its employees to be suspended from their duties causing an unknown amount of lost revenue. This criminal behavior is inexcusable and will simply not be tolerated in the City of Pineville.
