On December 30th 1952 , with less 48 hours to live , our December Featured Artist Hank Williams loaded up his 1952 Cadillac with his guitar, stage suits and other things he would need for this short tour that would take him up through West Virginia and Ohio. His driver , Charles Carr, a 19 year old college freshman Hank had hired to drive, left Hanks mothers boarding house on N. McDonough St. in Montgomery, Alabama at 11:30 AM. Hank was wearing dark blue pants, a white button up shirt, a tie and a navy blue overcoat. It was unseasonably cold over the south that day as a snow storm covered the entire southeastern united states. To his credit Charles Carr, who passed away fairly recently never tried to capitalize or make any money off his very brief time with Hank. Unrelated , but at the time You Win Again was a recent hit & was the B-side to the #2 peaking Settin the Woods on Fire but even though the song only reached #10 seems to be the bigger classic of the two today. I would also argue that it was one Hank best worded compositions. https://youtube/watch?v=bvYDQBIokz0
