On December 6, 2013, Pearl Jam completed their North American Lightening Bolt tour at Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. In front of an adoring hometown crowd (including Stevan Vinci), the band played a Springsteen-esque career defining 3 hour plus show filled with memorable performances of both classics and rarities. Highlights included Interstellar Overdrive (Pink Floyd cover), Lukin (with titular grunge legend Matt Lukin in attendance), After Hours (The Velvet Underground cover, dedicated to Lou Reed), Let Me Sleep (their classic Christmas themed song last played in 1994), Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns (Mother Love Bone covers), Breath & State of Love and Trust (from Cameron Crowes Singles soundtrack), and in the second encore an all-star performance of Kick Out The Jams (MC5 cover, featuring Mark Arm and Steve Turner from Mudhoney and Kim Thayil from Soundgarden among others). As usual, Mike McCready finished the night with a mind-bending version of Yellow Ledbetter, this night bookended by Eruption (Van Halen cover) and Little Wing (Jimi Hendrix cover). Eddie Vedder admitted to drinking more than usual as he expressed his pride that Washington state was on the right side of history after legalizing marijuana and gay marriage. In short, every Pearl Jam fan needs to watch this show!
