On December 6th, Typhoon Hagupit devastated a large portion of the Philippine island of Samar, a region still reeling from Typhoon Haiyan. #AHV soon identified communities in needs of assistance, starting with the village of Calampong. It became clear that we could immediately assist these subsistence fishing families by helping to repair their boats and nets, without which they are unable to provide for themselves and their families. The need is GREAT and time is of the essence for these families.
