...On February 20, in the court of primary jurisdiction took place regular hearing of the theatrical political trial against the Ruthenian spiritual leader, Father Dimytry Sydor. It has begun with legal debate. Statement by the prosecutor was frankly weak, - word for word, he mumbled initial "indictment", completely ignoring the conclusions of the three-year trial - as if it had never taken place. The prosecutor asked the court of a conditional sentence for Father Dimytry for three years - suspended for three years. Statement by attorney Vasily Mocanu was brilliant. In his speech, he gave a brief legal description of modern Ruthenian movement, and called the political persecution of the cleric a disgrace for Ukraine. The attorney completely discredited the prosecution on all counts, leaving no stone unturned, and demonstrated that the testimony of witnesses in court (as well as the pre-trial investigation), cannot be considered legal proof of guilt. The same applies to the expert examinations and collected evidence. The follow-up two and a half-hour speech of the assistant to attorney Peter Godmash was also very successful. Speech of Father Dimytry Sydor was spectacular as ever, - reserved (in contrast to previous emotional speeches), expressing his strong civil position and promise not to abandon the path he has chosen, as required by the etiquette of the cleric, risen to defend his people. Father Dimytry said that whatever the decision of the court would be, he will continue his noble cause of protecting the rights and freedoms of the Ruthenian people.
