On #Ferguson, from Anita Gaind: As a mother of a half AA male, I am surprised about one element missing from the national conversation. Perhaps as a primary-care minded physician, I am uniquely poised to think about PREVENTION. Fixing our justice system will take generations. What all parents of young men of color can do NOW is to teach our young men to NOT HAVE INTERACTION WITH POLICE at any cost. That means: focus on your education. Keep busy at school and with activities and making your community better rather than just kickin it on the streets and emulating thug life. Why is the important element of LIVING A CLEAN LIFE and STAYING OUT OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY not being discussed as a major strategy to keeping our young men of color on track and safe??? Hear, hear!
