On Friday I picked up the digital files of oodles of Sunup - TopicsExpress

On Friday I picked up the digital files of oodles of Sunup material, as well as solo demos recorded in my parents basement. Some of the material is embarrassingly funny, some historical, some hysterical and some seeping with raw emotion. We also uncovered a 4 track recording of a reunion show we did, that will have to be downloaded and mixed, because we have found no stereo 2-track of the evening. I even recognize the laughter of some of our staunch supporters in between songs. A number of the songs have an incredible amount of tape hiss, so well have to go in and eliminate some of that before we put that material out. We also uncovered some live recordings of one of the performances from the Bungalow Inn, which used to be on Mt. Hope Ave. in Rochester. This is the place where Goon and Mindy first met and where Dave and Angie Mason used to come out every Sunday to hear us play. You can hear Dave yelling out, Extra fine! There was also a reminder of why I gave up writing jingles for ad agencies. Some of the most ridiculous stuff was concocted by these ad gurus! The end was result was, I cant go for that, noooo can do. In closing, we may release some of the songs a little earlier, but most of the offerings will be in 2015. Its going to be a VERY time consuming project. In the meantime enjoy the photos in retrospect and visit the Sunflare website once in awhile (sunflaresong) - click on Sunup.
