On Friday I rode the Steam Train from New Freedom to Hanover junction and back again. I must say that the Steam Train ride was a great experience. The guides, conductors and train attendants could not have been any nicer or friendlier. They all appeared to be enjoying their job and were genuine people persons. you could tell they liked people and were genuinely interested in making the train ride an enjoyable and informative one. The round trip took about two hours and a half hour layover at the Hanover junction railroad station where passengers could purchase Ice Cream and Italian Ices and visit the small museum. This is a great experience and if you have not yet taken the excursion, you owe it to yourself to do it. There are two excursions. the shorter one is from New Freedom to Glen Rock and back again and the longer one is from New Freedom to Hanover Junction and back again.
