On Friday, June 13th, the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation had the honor of attending and supporting the scholarship Benefit for Los Danzantes de Aztlan. The proceeds will fund a new scholarship named in honor of the dance groups founder, the late Chicano and Latin America Studies professor emeritus Ernesto Martínez. This scholarship will assist students who are currently earning a college degree while they engage in an important cultural activity that contributes to the cultural life of the university and the community. We would also like to congratulate our Board Member, Frank Villegas for being awarded the “Danzante of Distinction Award” for his tireless efforts to support the Danzantes de Aztlan throughout the years.
