On Friday, March 14, 2014, SWVAL took a true leap of faith and pulled 22 cats from the Mercer County Animal Shelter. We had the opportunity to save many cats with two large scale rescue trips, but in order to do so we needed donations towards vetting and travel expenses. We had to make the decision to either pull the cats on blind faith that we would raise the funds or allow both opportunities to pass us by and see the cats pulled potentially perish when the time came for euthanizations. We have a long way to go in making these trips a reality but we are optimistic that we will meet our fundraising goals to cover vetting and travel expenses. Our community has never let us down and we are hoping they will rally behind us once again. In order to make these trips happen we need shares, short term fosters and donations. Our ability to continue to large scale rescue efforts in the future will depend on the success of these two trips. Please help us help these purrbabies.
