On Friday, Mayor P. Karthiyayini All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(AIADMK) Councillor suspends for two months. 49th ward councillor Mr. K. Sukumar from Participating in all ordinary urgent Meeting of the Corporation for two months. Mr. K. Sukumar there were irregularities in the purchase of machines by the Vellore. He purchased a machine at a cost of Rs. 6,000 in Coimbatore.He said, corporation had purchased in a machine at an cost of Rs. 16,500 for each.In Mayor letter form the Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Chennai, dated August 13, 2012, asking all local bodies to purchase anti-mosquito Machines from a agency in chennai by paying Rs. 16,500 and 5 percent value add tax. Vellore Mayor Ms. P. Karthiyayini said, that since the councillor’s statement tended to cause disrepute to the government, she was ordering the suspension of the councillor for two months.
