On Friday, my first full day in Florida, I got to spend a lot of time hanging out with my grandmother, talking and joking and catching up. Im so grateful I didnt waste a minute on that day, because Saturday afternoon she went into the hospital with heart trouble. Today, two stents were placed in a blocked artery, and she is now in recovery and feeling good. Im thankful for her diligent and compassionate surgeon, the hospital team that has made her stay as pleasant as possible, and for that little voice in my head that urged me to take advantage of every minute with her on Friday. Although today we have good news, not every day can guarantee that.
