On Friday night Henry and Sandra Gosling attended the Queensland Premiers Export Awards in Brisbane representing the CO YO team. We walked away with a great award as an Emerging Exporter for 2014 To our New Zealand sales team and especially our retail supporters, thank you for embracing CO YO, the original coconut yoghurt, which has been available in New Zealand for some 18 months. To all of our consumers of CO YO in New Zealand, a big thank you for your support over this time. As the pioneers of yoghurt made from Coconut milk in Australasia we were really pleased to accept this award on behalf of all the non dairy yoghurt eaters and those that want a delicious yummy yoghurt alternative. Below is a news release from the Mayor of the Sunshine Coast who attended the awards night with us. Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson has congratulated Yandina company CO YO for taking out Emerging Exporter of the Year at the prestigious Premier of Queensland Export Awards at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre last night (Thursday, October 16). CO YO exports Australasias first commercially produced, non-dairy, yoghurt and ice cream alternatives using coconut. The products offer naturally-delicious alternatives for people with dietary and digestive challenges. Launched in Australia in early 2010, CO YOs domestic success attracted international investors keen to distribute its innovative products. CO YO is now produced and distributed under license in the United Kingdom and the United States, with plans well underway for further expansion. The company also began exporting to New Zealand from its Sunshine Coast base in late 2013, with rapid market growth expected to facilitate the establishment of a dedicated New Zealand-based manufacturing facility in the near future. CO YO is the epitome of bold thinking and real action, the foundations of success in any business, Mayor Jamieson said. I congratulate directors Henry and Sandra Gosling who started the company in their home. Through hard work and innovative ideas, they have gone on to become a global brand. It was a tremendous honour to be with them last night when they received this award from the Premier. These awards recognise the best of the best in the export industry and CO YO has shown it is up there with them and helping put Sunshine Coast on the world map. Agribusiness is recognised as one of our seven high-value industries which have the potential to generate enduring employment opportunities in our region. Niche food and beverage products and value-adding production will provide a strong foundation in the region and our local export companies such as CO YO, are a key part of the future of the Sunshine Coast. CO YOs latest win comes on the back of the company taking out the Ingredient Innovation category at the Food Magazine Awards for the third year running in August.
