On Good Friday, we, like the disciples in the New Testament, find - TopicsExpress

On Good Friday, we, like the disciples in the New Testament, find ourselves standing, kneeling, struck mute at the foot of the cross. The ultimate lesson of servant leadership, of suffering on behalf of others, wracks our hearts and minds. When nothing but taking others pain on Himself would do, Jesus humbly paid the cost, confident that Gods plan would be fulfilled. We, like millions through the centuries, receive forgiveness and find life through His sacrifice. When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.—Luke 23:48-49 Prayer: Jesus, as I kneel, humbled, before Your cross, break the hardness of my heart with the life-giving flow of Your love and forgiveness. Destroy my pride, my indifference to others, and my resistance to Your call. Remake me in Your image, I pray in Your name, Amen.
