On Gumis epistle to #GMB somebody has this to say: Please my people, read this quote Don’t be surprised. You may need to understand that Islam being a pragmatic religion allows the use of Zakkat and public wealth as an instrument to pacify and lure influential people for the sake of righteousness, peace and stability. In modern governance today it translate to security vote. Translation in plain English: Corruption is allowed, the rich and powerful should be pacified with public funds. The imams support corruption, pastors support corruption yet we ask ourselves why we are in this mess. This says it all for me, actually! It is for this reason that Buhari should run, the fear of Buhari is palpable. As for Gummi; the voice of Jacob is heard, but the hand of Esau is clearly seen. My take: altruism is being questioned. It could be an innocent slip no doubt. Maybe someone is being too cerebral or critical, extending the context beyond the authors intent. Worse, the author is being deliberately mischievous of his own volition or is a victim of one of his own assertions on the peoples General; An instrument of political machination owing to his perceived influence. I pray all these will serve to influence our attempt at shaping our political future positively.
