On Immigration: Not to over-simplify a complex situation, there should be existing, plenty of room to debate what our nations proper immigration policy should be -- and there should be plenty of negotiating room available to our lawmakers to try and craft the appropriate policy that, under any set of circumstances imaginable, is in the end going to wind up being a compromise position regardless of who controls Congress and who occupies the White House. No matter what policy is eventually put in place (as a refinement or replacement for what we have now) it will, in many respects, have only a limited utility value if we do not establish and maintain reasonably effective control over our borders, especially our southern one. Not pretend control but real control. I suggest we do whatever it takes and spend whatever monies are necessary in order to establish and maintain such control. Everything else regarding immigration policy can eventually be sorted out IMO.
