On Jan.2,1986 we lost one of our own. Fireman Marcus A. Reddick, badge #836, served in the U.S. Air Force. He was appointed on 7/3/1978 and assigned to Engine 29. On 1/22/1979, he transferred to Truck 10. He later transferred to Engine 5. On 12/31/1985, at fire alarm Station 5119, he was attempting to rescue a woman from the second floor via a ground ladder. The woman jumped, grabbed F/M Reddick and fell to the ground. F/M Reddick suffered severe head trauma and died on 1/2/1986. He was 26 years old at the time of his death. Marcus Reddick even in death continued to save lives through the use of his liver, kidneys and heart implanted to keep life beating in other victims.
