On January 10th the Auburn Fire Department celebrated the retirement of our long time Chief, Mark D’Ambrogi. Chief D’Ambrogi served the citizens of Auburn from 2002-2014. Before his appointment as Auburn’s Fire Chief Mark started his career as a firefighter with the Rincon Valley Fire Protection District in 1977. 10 years later in 1987 Mark was promoted to Firefighter/Engineer. In January of 1989 Mark made the rank of Fire Captain before becoming a Battalion Chief in 1991. Chief D’Ambrogi spent 5 years as a Battalion Chief before promoting to the Assistant Fire Chief for the Rincon Valley Fire Protection District in 1996 where he stayed until becoming Auburn’s Fire Chief in 2002. Everyone here at Auburn Fire thank Chief D’Ambrogi for his 37 dedicated years to public service and we wish him well in his retirement endeavors.
