On January 21st, 2014 the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office filed charges on Tina Sepe 30 of McGregor, charging her with 21 counts of violation of no contact order with incarcerated in the Clayton County Jail. Sepe personally and through a third party contacted a protected party of a court order from January 7th through January 16th. Sepe is currently being held in the Clayton County Jail serving her sentence. On January 22, 2014 at 7:30pm the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible domestic dispute taking place at a residence in rural Guttenberg. Upon further investigation it was found that Joshua User 37 of Guttenberg had assaulted his mother during an argument. User was placed under arrest and transported to the Clayton County jail where he was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault-Simple Misdemeanor. On January 23rd, 2014 at 10:10am the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic dispute taking place in Luana. Upon investigation it was found that Patti Farmer 37 of Luana had assaulted her husband requiring medical treatment. Farmer left the residence before deputies arrival. She later returned during the investigation. Farmer was subsequently arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault-Serious Misdemeanor. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and MFL Ambulance Service. On January 26th, 2014 the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office filed charges against Nathan Slaughter 28 of McGregor for Obstructing Prosecution an aggravated misdemeanor. Slaughter had contact with a victim and witnesses in an case that he was personally involved in and then subsequently made false statements. These statements where confirmed to be false. A warrant for Slaughters arrest has been issued. “The filing of a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt”.
