On January 27, 2014, I held a Sunshine Meeting with Commissioner Bruno Barreiro to identify the most suitable location for a Major League Soccer stadium. Out of 30 sites identified by the Beckham Group, five have been deemed viable, with the Port of Miami being the most mentioned. I wanted to explore other options that meet the parameters established by the Miami-Dade County Commission and the Beckham Group (i.e. proximity to the urban core, compatibility of maritime and pedestrian traffic, and security).
