On January 5th , 2015, Deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Metro Division conducted a traffic stop on Ashmore Road in the Glenmora area for a vehicle travelling on the wrong side of the road. Deputies approached the vehicle and upon contacting the driver, detected a strong odor of marijuana. The driver, identified as Kendereck Donta Miles, was briefed on the traffic violation and informed that deputies detected the marijuana odor. Miles stated he had smoked all the marijuana but Deputies noticed a plastic bag on the driver’s floor board containing a crystalline substance, suspected to be methamphetamine. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted where a plastic bag of marijuana and a plastic bag containing suspected powder cocaine were located. Miles was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he was later released on $15,575.00 bond.
