On July 16 and 17, 2014 the 2015 Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training Program (COBALT) held a “Get to Know your Rights, Get to Know Your Courts” program for 60 at-risk kids. The program was the first of two service projects the 2015 COBALT class committed to and that benefit the Colorado Uplift program. The Colorado Uplift Program focuses their efforts on under-served, underprivileged, at-risk kids in Colorado. Several Colorado Supreme Court Justices (Justice Hobbs and Justice Marquez), Court of Appeals Judges (Judge Taubman, Judge Casebolt, Judge Fox, Judge Navarro), and other Judges (Juvenile Judge Clark) participated in the “Get to Know your Rights, Get to Know Your Courts” program alongside the 2015 COBALT class. Shelly Dill-Combs, Becky Wiggins, Adam Espinosa, and Ed Hopkins organized and developed the program. They were assisted by current and former COBALT members in presenting the program to the kids, including, Adam Espinosa, Megan Downing, Ed Hopkins, Shelly Dill Combs, Becky Wiggins, Ashley Chase, Sal Quintana, Sumi Lee, Lia Fazzone, Jean Martin, Toni Wehman, Katy Dunn, Harry Budisidharta, and Magistrate Ruben Hernandez.
