On July 18th we took in an emaciated pup named Timber. He was 23 pounds, anemic, had swollen ankles that burst, and could barely walk. He was hospitalized immediately and given 2 blood transfusions, IV fluids and antibiotics. After a week in ICU, we were told there was nothing left to do and since he wasnt responding to any treatments and tests were inconclusive, we should say goodbye. We couldnt fathom him not having any loving between illness and death, so we brought him back to the shelter for hospice care. The day we brought him back, he grabbed my turkey sandwich off of the table and thus began a new feeding regimen! We had him at the shelter for a couple of weeks and were amazed at the progress he was making. Unfortunately, he was bonding way too strongly to us and we made the decision to find a foster home. Gracie, of Jameson Loves Danger, and her partner My Yen stepped up to take this little guy on. He was quirky, for sure, but loved them, their houe and other dogs. After several failed introductions, they made the decision yesterday to adopt this dog and we are SO grateful. Our gift this Giving Tuesday is to you. We give you a 42 pound Timber!!! BOOYA!
