On July 3, 1848 a war was started against slavery. The blacks of Caribbean in St. Croix won against slavery and Emancipation. Every year this is celebrated in the US Virgin Islands. The small island of St. Croix was once one of the largest sugar cane producers in the world and was the center of activity in the once Danish West Indies.
