On June 11, 2014, Trooper Noah Pack and Trooper Marshall Maxwell of the Northampton Barracks, were on patrol in Holyoke. They were approached by 9-year-old Arianna who had casts on both of her wrists. She told the two troopers that as she was riding her scooter, she was about to run over a smaller child, so she intentionally crashed the scooter to avoid hurting the smaller child. Crashing the scooter caused her to fall and break both of her wrists. Arianna and her mother, very shyly asked if Trooper Pack and Maxwell were not too busy to sign her casts; They were more than happy to oblige. Two Holyoke Police officers nearby took the photographs.
