On March 28 at approximately 9:56 p.m., a citizen called Springfield-Greene County Emergency 911 Communications due to her infant son choking. The 911 telecommunicator, Sam Brakebill, talked with the mother of the infant, while sending the information to be dispatched. Battlefield Fire, Greene County Sheriff and a medic were sent to the location to assist the mother. She wrote, “hoping I never have to speak to the dispatchers again, but whoever I spoke to (a few weeks back) when my infant son had a choking episode leaving him temporarily cold and blue, was awesome. Kept me on the phone until I was comfortable getting off the phone.” Thank you, Sam, for your great service to our community!
