On March 29, County Legislator Catherine Parker shared Riverkeepers photo on her Friends of Catherine Parker facebook page (see below). Ironically and unfortunately, during her six year tenure on the Rye City Council, Ms. Parker permitted 34 homes on Hen Island to flush their sewage directly into the ground and the Long Island Sound. On Hen Island there are no sewage pipes, no septic fields, no holding tanks for waste. Just dirt, rocks, sand, and a two foot water table.
