On March 31, 1996 a great man never knew that his song would predict the future. Now in the year 2014 the song entitled They dont care about us by the late Michael Jackson has a whole new meaning. From Trevon Martin, Mike Brown, and Eric Garner this song predicted their lives. The lyrics you could never really understand on the radio broken down will make you think long and hard. Do they really care about us? I decided to post some of the lyrics to this song that has meaning to me. Please take a minute to read them and imagine the lives of those killed. I added in the portion that explains each death. Skin head, dead head Everybody gone bad Situation, aggravation Everybody allegation In the suite, on the news Everybody dog food Bang bang, shot dead Everybodys gone mad (Mike Brown shot dead, Ferguson Missouri goes mad.) All I wanna say is that They dont really care about us All I wanna say is that They dont really care about us Beat me, hate me You can never break me Will me, thrill me You can never kill me Jew me, sue me Everybody do me Kick me, kike me Dont you black or white me All I wanna say is that They dont really care about us All I wanna say is that They dont really care about us Tell me what has become of my life I have a wife and two children who love me I am the victim of police brutality, now Im tired of bein the victim of hate Youre rapin me off my pride Oh, for Gods sake I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy... Set me free (Eric Garner choked to death. Wife and 6 kids. Police Brutality) Skin head, dead head Everybody gone bad Trepidation, speculation Everybody allegation In the suite, on the news Everybody dog food Black male, black mail Throw your brother in jail All I wanna say is that They dont really care about us All I wanna say is that They dont really care about us Tell me what has become of my rights Am I invisible because you ignore me? Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now Im tired of bein the victim of shame Theyre throwing me in a class with a bad name I cant believe this is the land from which I came You know I really do hate to say it The government dont wanna see But if Roosevelt was livin He wouldnt let this be, no, no (Trevon Martin had the right to walk down the street. Those were taken away when he was labeled and killed) Skin head, dead head Everybody gone bad Situation, speculation Everybody litigation Beat me, bash me You can never trash me Hit me, kick me You can never get me
