On May 15th, two brave men, Ken Ward and Jay OHara, were part of whats become known as the Lobsterboat Blockade. They used a small lobster boat to successfully stop a coal tanker from unloading 40,000 tons of West Virginia coal at the Brayton Point power plant in Massachusetts, and now theyre on trial for their actions. They have decided to use the case as an opportunity to change laws surrounding civil disobedience and climate change. They are pleading not guilty on grounds that their actions were out of necessity to defend people and planet. Theyve built a very motivated team of support, including expert witnesses such as Bill McKibben and Dr. James Hansen, as well as a crack legal team to present their case in trial. But they still need help to fund their efforts. Can you help?
