On May 22nd 2007 when Capt. Mike Mukula one of the gallant sons of Teso was innocently arrested from his Bugolobi residence, in an Operation Commanded by a One Womanya, Commander of the then Anti Terrorism squad of the UPDF, with 2 Military Police Patrol Trucks, 2 (999) Police Trucks, Many Special Forces, 2 Military Trucks along Luthuli Avenue,… with Commandos armed with Short lethal G4 Guns, many laughed it Out louder, celebrating and commentated it in their Leaving Rooms then. Today 7 years down the road, History has repeated its self to some,…. A police and military operation was today underway at outgoing Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s home in Kololo. According to family sources, the operation was being commanded by the UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Brig Leo Kyanda. The security officials arrived at the home about 3.30 PM, and are backed by three police pick-up trucks. Mr Mbabazi was reportedly not at home at the time the security officials arrived. Ms Nina Mbabazi, the ex-Prime Minister’s daughter who was at the home says that Brig Kyanda had come to withdraw the UPDF guards assigned to Mr Mbabazi. Although Ofwono Opondo said that the UPDF were simply dismantling their Installations at Amama`s Residence. On February 13, 2014 the Soroti Municipality MP, Mike Mukula, denounced any plans to contest the NRM flag-bearer position. Once touted as a potential Presidential candidate for the 2016 election, Mukula said he will support the incumbent President Museveni.
