On May 23, 2014 at 5:49 AM, the Camdenton Fire Department responded to reported smoke in a residence on Sunset Drive in Camdenton. Mid County Fire Protection District was called to assist. Firefighters arrived to find that there had been a small fire inside a bedroom of the residence. The fire was out prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene. The fire was determined to be suspicious in nature and the MO State Fire Marshal was contacted to investigate further and determined that the fire had been intentionally set. The Camdenton Fire Department and MO State Fire Marshal are continuing the investigation and are asking for anyone with information about this incident to contact the MO State Fire Marshal’s Office at 1-800-39-ARSON (1-800-392-7766). There were no injuries associated with this incident. The bedroom suffered minor fire and smoke damage. Drew Stark, Fire Chief Camdenton Fire Rescue
