Cambridge Feminist Society Lent Symposium Monday 10 March 7pm - 9pm Armitage Room, Queens College Dr. Jane Partner, Ariella Rotenberg, Jo Murray and Cherie Elston will be presenting their research at our end of term Symposium. The presentation topics are: -womens texts on textiles -political economy of gender in Belgian Congo -feminist and pacifist movements in contemporary Columbia -women and the Common Law Note that this event is open to self-defined women and those who have sometimes identified as women. Mona Siddiqui and Gayatri Spivak will be giving presentations, and there will be another feminist symposium. Negotiating Women’s Rights in Law and Society. (2) 11 March: Lecture 2: Mary in Christian-Muslim Relations. (3) 12 March: Lecture 3: From the Feminine to Feminism: Women in Islamic Thought and Literature. (4) 13 March: Concluding Symposium: Feminism, Religion, and Womens Rights. (Registration required) The lectures will take place at the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms from 5pm to 6.30pm.
