On Monday, August 25, WOCCISD Trustees voted to name the West Orange – Stark High School Football Field Leroy Breedlove Field. Breedlove is a very prominent and popular retired athletic coach and physical education instructor. He was employed with WOCCISD from 1964 to 1998. During his tenure with the District he served at M.B. North High School, M.B. North Middle School, Stark High School, and at West Orange – Stark Intermediate, Middle, and High School campuses coaching multiple athletic events, as well as physical education. His assignments have included football, basketball, and track, as well as mathematics in his early years as an educator. “I am excited, surprised, and honored to receive this recognition. I would like to thank the whole District for the confidence and support that they have shown me through the years,” Breedlove said. The District is currently pursuing the appropriate signage which will reflect both of the names of the stadium and field.
