On Monday, December 22, representatives from the Transportation Management Association of Chester County, along with state and local elected officials including Chester County Commissioner and Congressman Elect Ryan Costello (R-PA) dropped off donations for Veterans. The group used a Coatesville LINK bus to deliver items including clothing, shoes, food and books. The group also supplied 20 microwave ovens for Veterans who will be moving into permanent housing. Many Veterans who participate in Coatesville VA Medical Center Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program and VA grant & per diem programs use Transportation Management Association of Chester County resources to get to their jobs, and other obligations in the community. Additionally, many of these Veterans will be the recipients of the donations that TMACC provided today. In fiscal year 2014, Chester County and greater Philadelphia area residents and groups contributed $559,674 in gifts and donations, and $92,702 in monetary donations to the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Community members are also encouraged to honor Veterans by volunteering their time. Anyone interested in learning more about VA’s volunteer program or making donations should call 610-383-0228.
