On Monday, I got the nomination from Dustin to do the Ice Bucket challenge. Im not gonna dump ice water on myself, however I will share with you a video of an ice bucket challenge that is much more inspiring to watch: youtube/watch?v=h07OT8p8Oik I thought about what I wanted to do with this challenge before I got nominated and I want to do it a little differently from here forth (that goes for my nominees, and their nominees too!!!). I chose to donate to ALS research, but I also wanted to pick two other causes to donate to. I think its great that ALS has gotten so much attention and that donation has increased so much, but I really want to see this happen for other noble research causes to aid other horrible disorders and diseases. SO: - I donated to ALS TDI, as per Mr. Carbajals suggestion. Heres the link: als.net - I donated to the Alzheimers Association (alz.org) in memory of a good family friend, Clare Cusick. - Finally, I donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (pcf.org). My great grandfather Asher Patten, his father, both his sons, and his grandson have all had prostate cancer, so Im at high risk for it myself. Thankfully all of them and other people who have had cancer in my family have survived it, but many people are not so fortunate. I know cancer research is one of the most highly funded but it can always benefit from more. Finally, I would like to nominate two of my super cute roommates Jesse Cramer and Tyler Socash, as well as my cousin Jack Patten III. Take your time - Im not gonna make you pour water over your head within the next 24 hours, but PLEASE donate to ALS and two other causes you believe in. And keep this shit going guys!!
