On Monday I will be visiting a birth centre in Trinidad called Mamatoto Resource and Birth Centre. https://m.facebook/Mamatotobirthcentre The centres founders are campaigning for change to Trinidads antenatal, peri-natal and postpartum care as many policies deny families the right to the kind of birth they want to experience. For example in Trinidad dads are routinely denied the right to be present for the birth of their children in hospitals, leaving mothers to birth alone with no companion beside them. I look forward to meeting Deborah Lewis and the other inspirational midwives at Mamatoto to learn more about their work and their campaign.
