On Monday, June 10th at The Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership BID annual meeting, Urban Pathways (UP) was presented with the 2013 Outstanding Service Award. In attendance were UP Deputy Executive Director Lisa Lombardi, Outreach Director Jamel Garner, Case Manager Babs Areceneaux and Case Aide Valerie Benson. With funding from The BID, UP conducts outreach from 21st to 28th Street and from Third Avenue to Sixth Avenue. It is in this area that UP often encounters some of the more isolated, transient chronic homeless individuals in the City. We provide ongoing outreach to this population, offering referrals to drop-in centers, shelters, safe havens, detox/rehab facilities, and medical facilities.
