Eric will give us all a look into the future with Common core and it effect us and our children. There are some things we know: •The Common Core Standards was adopted by the State of California and is here to stay. •Many education text books will become electronic media. •Technology and Blended Learning (in classroom, outside classroom, and online learning) will be the new teaching format. •Flip teaching (technique of instruction that makes lecture time as a pre-class activity to give the teacher more time to interact with students), will become more prominent. •Teaching across the different academic subjects will need to have a greater blend where math, history, social studies, science, reading, etc., instruction will in many cases mix together. •Drill-and-Kill teaching and testing is out the door. •First Smarter Balanced student assessments tests will be performed in the 2014-2015 school year.
