On Monday, Muslims from across the UK, and the world marked Eid Ul Fitr, the beginning of festivities, following the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Eid Ul Fitr, has once again come, bringing much joy, happiness, and delight to the Muslim Community. A festival which follows a month of discipline, self-control, and bettering oneself, by becoming more religiously committed and devoted to God, and in turn, becoming an outstanding citizen, a role model, an inspiration, and asset to the local Community. Ramadan, which has left us, is often seen as a month of abstaining from Food and Drink for 30 days - and rightly so - however - that said, this month also shows the fantastic sacrifices, contributions, and dedicated commitment, made to improve wider society by the Muslim Community. As well as that, its a month in which we are instructed to become more charitable, help others, forgive others, make others smile, build bridges between different communities, repair broken hearts and mend fragile relationships. Its an absolutely fantastic month, which not only showcases the excellent contributions made to the local community by Muslims, and indeed throughout the world, by changing the lives of those less fortunate, needy, and destitute - for the better - but also teaches those taking part integral factors, and indeed needed excellent personality traits, which are useful to improving society: Respect, discipline, honesty, self-control, hospitable, charitable, kind, caring, generous, and humbleness. Id like to take this opportunity, in my capacity as a serving member of the Alum Rock Neighborhood Group, Places of Welcome, and as a privileged member of local Community group, Faith Watch, to wish the community, and also my honorable, distinguished, and esteemed Muslim friends, and indeed, some of my respected, dear and close Non-Muslim friends, wholl also be taking part in Eid - A very happy, joyous and blissful Eid! Eid Mubarak to one and all! I hope youve had a good one! May it be one where we strengthen our relationship with God, become more devout, and use this day as an excellent opportunity to become more charitable, help others, forgive others, make others smile, build bridges between different communities, repair broken hearts and mend fragile relationships. Ameen!
