On Monday, a long-abandoned grocery store in Pateros became the new, permanent resource center for victims of the Carlton Complex fires after a local businessman bought it, renovated it, and offered its use. With new floors, lighting, air conditioning and heating, the new Multi-Agency Resource Center, or MARC, is open for business. Free business, that is, to those who lost homes and property in the largest wildfire in Washington’s history. The businessman who purchased the property wishes to remain anonymous. The facility is located at 169 Pateros Mall, and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. (full story available at wwrld.us/marc-pateros)
