On Monday morning with quite a bit of driving to do with many - TopicsExpress

On Monday morning with quite a bit of driving to do with many chores to complete in order to get the visa for her trip, Mrs Claw felt the usual ball of road rage welling up inside her when she continued to encounter muppet after muppet on the road. The F word was the mildest used during the trip. She had only just heard on Sky news at in Britain there are over 4 million, yes 4 million drivers over the age of 70 in the UK the oldest of whom is 107 years old. They have to take the test every two years to prove they are still capable of driving, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Back to what goes on here, first of all a woman driver in a very smart car, coming down a one way - The feeder road from Rink St. Past the petrol station, into Cape Road. Needless to say she also had a cell phone glued to her ear. Next a driver who had stopped in the middle of the road, also cell phone glued to his ear with his flasher lights on. In other words, ‘’I am busy on the line, just drive round me’’ Another ‘’gent’’ from Gauteng swerved from lane to lane cause he couldn’t decide wher he wanted to go. Then, another observation, it would appear in order to get a license to drive a Taxi here, you need to qualify by being colour blind. In other words, when the robot is red it means go and when its green it means slow down, (never stop that may make the taxi stall) Now this all may sound very droll but one better believe that those roads out there are not for the faint hearted and you need to be extremely alert and have great eye-hand co-ordination to avoid a rather nasty and equally expensive change to the shape of your vehicle!!! LOL One point of this post is also to point out that the elderly are often very capable of driving rather well. Mrs C being a point in question, she may have the odd dent here and there but she did manage to drive through London hither and thither pandering to Mrs S’s every whim without causing more damage than the odd side mirror being bashed off its hinge. In the unlikely event of her deciding to just stop to answer her cell phone, the consequences would probably have earned her some free time at Her Majesty’s Service (which maybe would have been better than the position she held at the time) hee hee The first time she crossed a road in the UK on a green light, she just couldn’t believe that she didn’t have to scarper over the road in order to avoid being hit. There they have to stop at pedestrian crossings as boring as that may appear. And if they don’t there are serious consequences...... That is enough of a Mona Lisa moment for today, lets get the show on the road!! LOL
