On Monday night I was on I-66 driving home from work when I hit a sheet of ice. I had no control of my vehicle because I had no traction. My car went straight for the guard rail, which I bounced off of...and it sent me flying across the median, & across both lanes of oncoming traffic. I ended in the ditch on the opposite side of the highway. I couldnt get my drivers door open and so I crawled out through the passenger door. A gentleman pulled off the road and sat with me until the ambulance came. Went to the ER..Leg, arm & head contusions and whiplash..but no breaks. I later found out that there were two other accidents that had happened about 200yards further up the highway from me that had hit the same patch of ice. They werent lucky enough to walk away with injuries like mine, one woman left on a gurney with a neck brace, and her face was terribly bruised. I was prescribed an anti inflammatory, but nothing for pain management. So Im on day 2 of recovery and still struggling to sit up or walk without extreme discomfort. At this point though, Im just happy to be alive. God certainly spared my life that night. It was a brutal wakeup call, but it has made me realize how short life really is, and that anyone can go at any time. So if I havent told you guys that I love you, I do. Hugs and kisses
