On Monday, we took our petition and all your signatures to the Prime Minister and this is what he said - “there is unanimity across all political parties on amending the RTI law to remove political parties from the purview of the RTI Act”. This is unacceptable. Political parties are united in amending the RTI Act. As voters, we give political parties the power and we need to remind them that we are against this amendment. It will be completely undemocratic to pass it without much wider public consultation. We urged the Prime Minister to recommend the issue to a parliamentary standing committee for further consultation. We just have a few hours left and we need to make our voice heard more than ever. venkat, here is what you can do - Lets create more buzz on social media. Share this message on Facebook and Twitter. We need to get 1 lakh signatures on our petition before we deliver it to the Speaker urging her to refer it to a standing committee. Forward this email to your family and friends. Share this infographic with your contacts and ask them to take action. Thank you for taking action, Aruna Roy and NCPRI Co-convenors - Anjali Bhardwaj, Nikhil Dey, Venkatesh Nayak, Rakesh Dubbudu, Dr. Shaikh via Change.org
