‘On Mopa, only Govt can take Decision not others’ My - TopicsExpress

‘On Mopa, only Govt can take Decision not others’ My say: Who is Govt? Is it not of the people, by the people and for the people? ‘Under no circumstances it will change’ https://youtube/watch?v=ySiYWumomOU ‘I am giving guarantee that Dabolim will remain as it is with similar traffic even after Mopa’ My say: How can he give the guarantee when the Airport is under Navy Control? Today there are say 5 hours restrictions for civilian use of airport, once Mopa commissioned, the restriction can go up by say 10 hrs or 12 hours and in the end they may even say no to civilian use on National security grounds, how can wise Parrikar forget the importance of Navy base there? ‘North Goa don’t have right to have an airport? Goa means only South Goa?’ ‘Those who says shift Navy, they don’t understand the importance of Naval base there..’ My say: Look who is talking 18 month ago.. (if he was aware of the importance of Navy base there, why he made the suggestion? See below) Quotes: The Hindu Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday (30/5/13) floated a new idea ostensibly to placate the growing opposition to the proposed Mopa airport in Salcete in south Goa stating that the government would make an offer to the Prime Minister to shift Navy to Mopa, and give Dabolim entirely for civilian operations. 18/5/13 GoaNews “I can have only Dabolim as a civilian air port, but then the Navy has to move out to expand it in order to meet the futuristic requirements of Goa”, said Parrikar while talking to media in Margao today. The chief minister said he did not mind keeping only Dabolim air port as a civilian air port if the Navy agrees to shift to Mopa. “I will give them Mopa land free”, he said. Extra.. The area or land that AAI Dabolim has if used wisely, is more than enough. youtu.be/YoiybqL08aA?t=25m2s
